There is only one half of the boom? Is that right. Is the aft end of this pipe in good shape?
What I want to do is: I need a stock boom pipe and an aft casting so I can make a kind of mandrel to mold a new carbon fiber boom end. The idea is to replace the casting and that heavy Cressman extension so jobbing isn't an adventure. I dont want to destroy my boom in case this carbon part fails. And then reuse this mandrel to make copies if it works.
Complete wishboom with minor wear on fore and aft casting.
- Front casting with s/s reinforcing plate to prevent shackle wear.
-Aft casting suitable for an eye nut and bolt for lashing clew to boom. Suggest the eye nut placed under the boom to provide a little extra lift for clearing bimini.
- A wishbone starboard tube
The parts belonged to Mascouche that was converted to a standing gaff rig a couple of years ago.
