After 18,000 miles, a round-trip to Mexico with children, and 11 cruises into the beautiful waters of British Columbia we thought we were done cruising. We sold our Norseman 447 in 1996. However, researching the Nonsuch we found we still has the “itch”. Given our ages, our plan was a 3-5 year commitment to again cruise in our own boat.
We found a Nonsuch 33 in Rocky River Ohio, bought it and had it shipped to Schooner Creek Boat Works in Portland. After a survey by Alison Mason we began a 2 1/2 year refit. This July we began our 12th cruise from Portland to the San Juan and Gulf Islands, and favorite places in Desolation Sound.
We had a wonderful opportunity to join the Pacific Northwest Nonsuch Rendezvous and spend time with a great group of Nonsuch sailors in Maple Bay, British Columbia. After cruising the Inside Passage for a month, we sailed home to Portland.
Now this chapter of our cruising life feels complete and we are ready to sell our Nonsuch 33, Shamrock, to someone we hope will cruise and enjoy her as much as we have. Presently she sits in Salpare Bay Marina in Portland, Oregon. The selling price is $125,000 US.
